Maybelline Colour Show Brocades Nail Polish - Rosy Rosettes

This is probably the first glitter nail varnish that I have owned since I was about 14 years old. I like the idea of glitter polish at Christmas time as I think it looks very festive. After browsing the aisles of boots for the perfect sparkly decoration for my fingertips I saw the new Maybelline Colour Show Brocade Polishes. I couldn't choose between Rosy Rosettes (a mixture of deep pink and gold glitter) and Knitted Gold (a mixture of yellow gold and rose gold glitter) so I bought both, but thought I would try out Rosy Rosettes first.

I started with one coat of Nails Inc Saville Row (see this post) and then applied three layers of Rosy Rosettes over the top and finished with the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat for a nice even glossy finish.

Application was very easy and only 2 or 3 layers were needed for an entirely opaque finish. I really didn't need the Nails Inc polish as a base but I originally only intended on applying one coat of the Maybelline polish.

I absolutely love this nail varnish. It has a nice mixture of very fine and larger particles of glitter which reflect light beautifully and does look very festive. In fact, I loved Rosy Rosettes so much that I started decorating my kindle cover with it (as you can see from the photos!). I got both Maybelline Colour Show Brocade polishes for £3.99 each in Boots which is a pretty reasonable price in my opinion.

I can't wait to try out Knitted Gold! Have you tried any of the new Maybelline Colour Show Brocades range? What's your favourite glitter polish? Let me know by commenting below....
