Getting Crafty for Christmas...

My mum and I are the perfect example of 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree'. We both love a project!

For the last month or so my mum's project has been making Christmas decorations, something we dabbled in only briefly this time last year. As you can see from the pictures above, she has been a very busy little bee and has already made an impressive amount of tree decorations, which we are hoping to sell in a craft fair on the lead up to Christmas.

On Wednesday I popped round to my mums for the day for a craft session and did my best to help make some festive decorations. My first attempts weren't overly impressive but my robin and Christmas tree have that special 'homemade quality'.

It was such a fun day! I remember when I was at University, after we had all handed in our dissertations and finished our exams, we had a month or two of freedom before we graduated. To fill the time we often had 'Craft Wednesday' where we would paint and draw and make random things (I really didn't realise how easy we had it back then!). I really miss Craft Wednesday so hopefully this Christmas craft day with my mum will be a regular occurrence. I always feel happier when I have a creative outlet which I guess is half the reason I started this blog!
