e.l.f Brush Haul & Autumn Collection Free Gift!

I know, I know, not another e.l.f haul?! What can I say....you just can't beat the prices! Also, as they aren't sold in stores in the UK it makes sense to order lots so you don't have to keep paying postage. Plus hauls are just so fun!

I wanted to order the Eyelid Primer in my last haul but it was sold out. When I checked a few days ago it was back in stock and an hour later an order was placed for a whole box full of goodies. The best thing about this order is that e.l.f had a special offer, spend £20 and get a free mystery Autumn Collection gift! Even better!

Apart from the eyelid primer I also wanted to try a few of their makeup brushes. At around £1.50 each I thought I would stock up so I don't have to wash my only eyeshadow brushes every day ready for the next.

I bought an Eyeshadow Brush, two Eye Crease Brushes, two Blending Eye Brushes and a Defining Eye Brush. First impressions are that they aren't the best quality. Some of the brush hairs were uneven and some of the hairs in the Eye Crease Brushes were easily pulled out/shedding. They are however, pretty soft and I think because of their size they will be really useful for detail work.

I thought I might as well try some of their face brushes as well. The Angled Blush Brush and Small Tapered Brush are both from the Studio line and are £3.75 each. They are both good sizes for detail work as I often find that blusher brushes are a bit too big.

In my last haul I did purchase an eyelid primer but because the sheer colour was out of stock I bought the colour Champagne which was a bit too glittery for my liking. Now that I am wearing a lot of neutral matte shades I wanted a sheer primer and was able to get my hands on the sheer one this time round. I did also order a Primer Eyeshadow in Misty Mauve which is quite shimmery but I thought this would make a nice all over lid colour on lazy days.

Autumn Collection Free Gift.....

The Autumn Collection Free Gift was a mystery gift when you spent over £20 and I must say I am actually pretty impressed with it. I wouldn't buy the majority of the products separately but there are a couple of winners in there.

The free gift included....
  • Conditioning Lip Balm - this adds a nice pop of red colour to the lips but isn't as conditioning as I would like
  • Primer Eyeshadow in Misty Mauve - Unfortunately I didn't know this was included so I ended up with two but I will just give one to a friend because they are really nice
  • Mineral Eyeshadow in Confident - This is probably my favourite item in the free gift. I usually avoid loose pigment powders like this because of the mess but it is a gorgeous bronze colour so it's worth the hassle.
  • Matte Eyeshadow in Pearl - This again is a loose powder eyeshadow but with a matte finish. I like the texture but the colour is a bit too blue toned for me.
  • Mineral Lipgloss in Nude - I am not a huge lipgloss fan because I find them a bit too sticky which this one is but the colour is really nice for everyday wear.
  • Radiance Enhancer in Golden - This highlighter is ridiculously pigmented and shimmery. It is a very bright gold which would never work with my skintone. If you have darker skin and prefer a not-so-subtle highlighter you might like this one.
  • Toe Separators - These are pretty self-explanatory and I don't really use toe separators but still a nice little addition to the free gift.

For £20 this haul was quite the bargain! Although the brushes aren't the best quality I still think I will get a lot of use out of them and I am looking forward to using the Eyelid Primer, the Eyeshadow in Confident and the Eyeshadow Primer in Misty Mauve.
