Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey - A Surprising Review

I have had my eye on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains for quite a long time and the colour Honey in particular. This is a highly recommended lip crayon on other blogs so I was excited when I finally got my hands on one and expected to love it.

Honey looks like a lovely natural pink blush colour so I thought it would make a great everyday lip product. It is very easy to apply and goes on smoothly. The appearance is glossy and as it's name suggests works as a stain so, once on, the colour does not transfer or disappear very quickly.

Unfortunately I have not been wowed by this product and I don't really think it's worth £7.99. First of all the colour actually appears quite bright on my lips so it's not as natural looking as I was hoping. It is also a bit drying on the lips but my main problem with the product is how it wears off. After a few hours I looked in the mirror to find that it had pretty much disappeared except for a bit of colour which settled in any dry patches on my lips and it stained a lip liner like line (now that's a tongue twister!) around my lips. It actually looked like I had applied a lip liner and forgotten to fill it in. Not good!

If you are able to keep an eye on your lips throughout the day and top up when necessary it would be fine but working in retail I don't get many breaks and when I do I am often rushing so don't have time to check and re-apply my makeup.

I will keep this product but will probably reserve it for evening-out makeup only and make sure I take it with me for inevitable touch ups. I will also make sure I use a good lip balm before and after use to help the drying effects.

I must say, I am surprised that I didn't get on with this product very well as I have read so many positive reviews about it. Has anyone else had these problems or is it just me?! Let me know by commenting below....
