MAC Club Eyeshadow - Review & Swatches

Month three of building my MAC quad and my eyeshadow 'Club' finally arrived! I order it from Debenhams because of the Beauty Card free shipping code and the first one that arrived was completely shattered. They packaged and padded it really well but unfortunately these things happen. A quick email to their customer services team and another eyeshadow was quickly sent on it's way to me.

Quite exciting actually because with a little white spirit hopefully I can salvage half of the broken one and have a spare in my Unii palette!

So anyway, as you can see from the swatches, Club is a duo-chrome satin finish eyeshadow with a reddish-brown base and turquiose-green shimmer. It is a truely unusual colour and I just loved the idea of it. At £10 an eyeshadow I really want my MAC quad to have unique shades that you can't find anywhere else. With the exception of Espresso (a matte chocolate brown which I was hoping to use for my eyebrows - see this post) I think my two other shades Satin Taupe and Club match this criteria.

The thing I love about Club is that when packed on to the lid the colour is mainly green and shimmery but once blended it is mostly red-brown. This means when blended in to the crease it looks as though you have gone to the effort to use more than one eyeshadow and it creates a more three-dimensional look.

I think this colour would look absolutely gorgeous on someone with brown eyes, pale skin and red hair. Maybe I should give up the ombre and go red again??

Apologies for the awful lighting!

I think the colour is beautiful, perhaps a little much for an everyday eyeshadow look but I love it so much I will probably wear it anyway. It would be gorgeous for an evening smokey eye look as I think it could look really dramatic.

Another thing I love about this is that when placed over my Maybelline Master Precise Black Liquid Eyeliner it makes the eyeliner an amazing bright green/teal colour, love it! As with all MAC eyeshadows Club has great longevity and I have been wearing it over Urban Decay's Primer Potion so it stays put until I take it off at the end of the day.

Have you tried Club? What are your favourite MAC eyeshadows? I still have one more to buy so recommendations are very welcome!.....
