Autumn/Winter Haul

I get very excited when the season starts to change. It doesn't matter whether it's winter in to spring or summer in to autumn, for some reason I like knowing that the year is passing. I love spring/summer for the weather but I love autumn/winter for the clothes. I have always felt more comfortable in my winter clothes and I get very excited about wearing my coat, hat and scarf for the first time.

I love snuggling up at home in a thick jumper and a blanket with a cup of tea, and I secretly start getting excited about Christmas as soon as the leaves start to change colour in September (but sshhh don't tell my sister!!)

The weather has only been changing for about a week but I have already invested in a new winter coat! I bought a new pair of boots about a month a go and a new hat and a snood during the summer heatwave. But there's nothing wrong with early preparation...is there?

It's always at this time of year that I crave change, perhaps it's because that is what we are used to. September comes around and we start new schools, new classes and run off to University etc. This year I fancy a new hair-do, a new hobby and a new exercise regime, although I guarantee the latter will be a complete and utter failure.

I'll keep you updated on the hair-do, the hobby (when I think of one) and the exercise regime but in the meantime I thought I would show you an autumn and winter haul of all the things I have bought for the impending cold weather.

Please excuse how dirty they are, I have already started wearing them in!

First up on my list of winter goodies are my new boots. A good pair of black ankle boots with a mid height sturdy heel are a staple in my winter wardrobe and when I find a pair I like I wear them to death from September to March (or until they fall to pieces). This year I found these spike-studded boots from New Look for £24.99. I love that I can wear them with jeans, leggings and even dresses. The only problem is that when I try and pull them off, the studs really hurt my hands!

One of the things I hate about winter is that when my ears get cold I get really bad headaches so I very rarely leave the house without a hat of some kind. I found this cream beanie hat and grey snood on a ski-wear website called Surfanic.co.uk. I love that the hat and the snood both have fluffy bobbles on them!

I love my old winter coat but I have worn it for about 3 years now and it only cost me £24.99 from H&M so I thought it was time for a new one. I found this cute navy coat in Dorothy Perkins for £59.00 but managed to get it in a limited time 25% off sale on their website. The fur collar is detachable so I can wear it two different ways. The fur collar and buttons really remind me of Kris Kringle's Santa outfit in Miracle on 34th Street - one of my all time favourite Christmas films! (Nicki Believes!)

This is the first of many jumpers to be bought this autumn/winter I am sure! I like that it is a lightweight 3/4 sleeve jumper so perfect for autumn when it isn't quite cold enough for a thick woolly jumper. It also has leather detailing along the neckline which I think makes it look a bit smarter. (New Look £12.99)

I am loving my new autumn/winter clothes and can't wait to start wearing them all.
