My New Favourite Eyeshadow Look - MAC and Topshop

It's month two of slowly building up a MAC quad and I purchased my second eyeshadow (read about my first one here). This was an easy choice as it comes highly recommended by a number of beauty blogs and is quite a hyped up shade. It is of course the stunning Satin Taupe, a very difficult colour to describe actually. I would say that it is a taupe with a mixture of grey, purple and brown tones and a slight silver shimmer.  It's a beautiful neutral shade but the purple/grey tones make it a bit different to all my other neutral brown shades.

The second eyeshadow I picked up is an eyeshadow crayon from Topshop and was an absolute bargain, labelled in the sale as £3 but only £1 at the till point!! Crazy! I know I will get so much use out of this one. The shade is Mystical and it is pretty much MAC's Satin Taupe in crayon form with just a little bit more shimmer.

My favourite eyeshadow look this week has been Topshop's Mystical Eye Crayon blended over the lid with my finger and MAC's Satin Taupe blended in to the crease (with a Coastal Scents 250 brush) which in the crease applies a little darker than Mystical and therefore, gives the eye more definition and dimension.

This eyeshadow look is so quick and easy and it lasts all day. The Topshop Eye Crayon has fantastic staying power and lasts all day without the need for a primer. I really wish I had picked up another shade when I found out they were only £1! They had a lovely bronze colour and a bright gold but I don't think I would get any use out of the gold.

What are your favourite MAC eyeshadows? I still have 2 to choose! Have you tried a Topshop Eye Crayon? Let me know by commenting below....
