e.l.f Twinkle Pink Blusher

In my recent e.l.f haul (see post here) I ordered one of their blushers in shade Twinkle Pink. I had heard that this could possibly be a dupe for the 'must have' Nars blusher in shade Orgasm which at £21.50 I really can't afford at the moment. The photo on the website did seem similar, it looked like a pinky-peach tone with a slight gold shimmer and it was only £3.75.

Unfortunately, I could tell as soon as I opened it that I wouldn't get much use out of this one. As you can see from the above picture and the swatch below, this blusher packs some serious shimmer, in fact I would go as far as to say some serious glitter. It is very highly pigmented but also very thick and powdery so it's hard not to go overboard with this one and it looks very obvious and chalky on the skin.

The colour is lovely if you like a glittery/shimmery finish to your blushers but I personally prefer a subtle blusher. I am open to a bit of shimmer (which Nars Orgasm does have) and I would use it for an evening out, but the e.l.f blusher is just a bit too much for me. I think this would actually look a lot nicer on darker and tanned skin-tones.

I am tempted however, to try some of the other e.l.f blusher shades and will hopefully place a new order soon when they get some of my most coveted items back in stock.

Have you tried any e.l.f blushers? Do you recommend any shades? Let me know by commenting below?
