Tarte Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush - Dollface

When one of my best friends said that she was off to America for 10 days I got just a little bit excited. I have never been to the US but as an avid reader of beauty blogs I know that they have an amazing plethora (great word!) of beauty products across the pond! Beauty products that we just can't get our hands on over here. Sadly I have never stepped foot in a Sephora and my friend had never heard of it, so a trip to this heavenly beauty store was my first piece of advice for her impending travels.

When she said that she was happy to pick up some beauty products for me I could have kissed the girl! I spent the next week (...or two) doing some research on the American products that constantly evade my grasp. I already kind of knew what my first choice would be and so the item I asked for was the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush. I have read amazing things about these blushers. The only problem was choosing a colour. A couple of days before she left I messaged her with my request, it went a little something like this....

This is the blusher...http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-Amazonian-clay-12-hour-blush. I would like the colour Adored or Amused or if they don't have one of those then the colour Dollface pretty please? You can get them at Sephora or Ulta. You're the best! I hope you have an amazing time! Cant wait to hear all about it! x

Actually forget amused, it looks really bright, I think it would be a little too amusing on my face! :-S x

Nicki says...
Make it Fearless, Dollface or Adored. In that preference order. Haha sorry I'm going a little bit crazy for them, they all just look so pretty! x

Nicki says...
Can I just come with you? x

Nicki says...
Actually Dollface is my favourite! Then the other two. Okay, I am annoying myself now, sorry! x

Nicki says...
Dollface then Fearless then Adored. I wont change my mind now, I promise!

All without giving her time for a single reply. Poor girl. Anyway, she got me Dollface and I love her!

Dollface is a blue undertoned pale pink which I hoped would complement my cool-toned complexion. The main things I had read about these blushers is that they are very finely milled and have great staying power. Based on the reviews I was expecting it to be a little more pigmented but I am actually glad it wasn't as pigmented as I thought it would be. I am always a little afraid of blushers like that, which is why I am always so hesitant to use my Sleek Blusher in Pixie Pink. It's way too easy to overdo it. This is the perfect amount of pigmentation for me.

At first I used my Real Techniques Blusher Brush but I was a bit disappointed by it, then I tried my Real Techniques Contour Brush which worked much better. As this brush is smaller, it is easier to concentrate the colour to a smaller area and it seemed to picked up a lot more product.

It is a really soft pink which as the name suggests does you give the pretty doll-like look which I think looks beautiful on pale and fair skintones. I love it and I think it will be one of my most reached for blushers for a long time to come. I'll try to do FOTD with me wearing it soon.

Have you tried a Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush? What blushers would you recommend for pale skin? Let me know by commenting below....
