Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils

I have had my eyes on the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks over the last few weeks and when I finally got around to picking them up in Superdrug I saw that Collection has a very similar product but much cheaper, the Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils. On the Collection website they are £3.19 but in Superdrug they had an introductory offer of just £2.50 each!

Although some of the shades are similar, Collection's colour choices are actually a little more wearable in my opinion. I swatched the range on my hand, and I kid you not, I could not get them off again. These eye pencils have some serious staying-power. I purchased Chocolate Brown which is a gorgeous bronzey brown shade, and Vintage Blush which is a pinky champagne colour which would make a perfect eye highlight colour.

The consistency and colours remind me a lot of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos but in a pencil form, and applied to the eyes they have a very similar finish. I would say that the Colour Tattoos give you more flexibility to start with a wash of colour and build it up to a bold colour, whereas the Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils are very soft and pigmented so apply very thickly.

I love these eyeshadow pencils and I am so happy with the quality, especially considering the price! Back when Collection was Collection 2000 I pretty much avoided their stands but I am really impressed with their new branding and their products are getting so much better. I would highly recommend picking some of these up, it'll be love at first swatch!

Have you tried the Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils? Do you think they are as good as the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks? Let me know by commenting below....

  1. I have Vanilla Sky and it is beautiful! I also swatched them all in the shop and they simply would not budge. They are my new favourite cream shadow (and believe me, I have tried a lot of them)! My next purchase will be Chocolate Brown I think and then maybe the deep peacocky-blue or the grey :D
