June '13 Favourites

I love working out what products I have been using and enjoying the most over the last month. A couple of my June favourites have already had their own individual blog posts but there are a couple I haven't mentioned yet. So here are my favourites for June.....

Foundation - Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc

I did my research on this foundation before I purchased it. I watched a lot of YouTube videos and read lots of blog reviews, because when a foundation costs £34 and you can't get a sample you do want to be pretty sure that you're going to like it. Based on the reviews it sounded like exactly what I was looking for, a high-end foundation (my first) which gives a nice luminous look but without being too dewy, with medium to full coverage and a good colour match of course. Although it is called Sheer Glow this foundation actually has surprisingly good coverage, I'd say it was medium but also quite buildable and yet still sheer enough to look natural and let my freckles peek through when applied thinly.

I was colour matched at Liberty (see my London beauty shopping trip post here). I have shade Mont Blanc which I think is the second palest shade and it has a slight pink undertone which looks more natural on me. I really do love this foundation and am trying not to use it up too quickly so I'm not wearing it everyday, just on days when my skin looks particularly dull and in need of a boost. See this post for a photo of me wearing this foundation.

Skincare - Bioderma Micelle Solution

I am still using my Bioderma religiously twice a day to cleanse my face and remove my makeup. It is good at removing waterproof eye makeup but I often still use my Simple Facial Wipes to take off the bulk as they are a little bit better at it and are much cheaper. I feel like it's more important to use my Bioderma on my skin. It does seem to be having an effect on my skin and I am not finding as many dry patches but I am still getting blemishes regularly. I don't think anything is going to help that at the moment! (For a more detailed review see my first post here).

Eye Product - No.7 Mystery Eyeshadow???

A couple of months ago No.7 were doing a special offer where you buy two No.7 products and you get a free gift which was a little ballerina themed makeup bag with some goodies inside. The freebies included a lipstick, an eyeshadow, a mini-mascara and a Protect and Perfect Day Cream mini.

I recently found the eyeshadow in my drawer and tried it out and now I can't stop using it. Its a grey/brown/purple/taupey colour (very difficult to describe actually) and it doesn't have a shade written anywhere on it. When doing some research on the internet someone suggested that it was the top colour in No.7s Forest Fruits Trio Eyeshadow and they do look similar so they might be right. I really love the colour as an all over lid shade and have also been layering it over Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze which deepens the colour and keeps in on longer, a combination I have really been loving this month!

Blusher - No.7 Ballerina Beauty Blush Palette

My most used blusher this month is this beauty from No.7. I won't go in to too much detail as I have done a whole post on this one already (read all about it here or see this post for a picture of me wearing it). But I will say that I have been loving this even more since using my new Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply it.

Makeup Brush - Real Techniques Blush Brush

I have been wanting this brush for so long and I finally built up enough Boots Points again to treat myself. It picks up a crazy amount of colour so I have learnt to be light-handed with it and tap off any excess before applying to my face. It is one of the softest brushes ever and, as with all the Real Techniques Brushes, it washes really well and dries quickly.

Highlighter - Dainty Doll Hippy Shake Blusher

Yes this is actually a blusher but because of the lilac toned pearlescent finish I find it is much easier to wear (and also very pretty) as a highlighter instead. Especially on cool toned fair skin. I have done a full post on this blusher/highlighter here

So another month gone, at this rate it'll be Christmas again before we know it!
