MAC Lustre Lipstick - Patisserie

It is a sad fact that at 25 years old this is my first MAC Lipstick. I didn't realise what I was missing out on! With £15 left on my Debenhams voucher and after reading blog after blog on MAC's must-have products I knew I had to bite the bullet (excuse the pun) and make the purchase. I am not much of a lipstick wearer but I am slowly building up my collection and getting in the habit of adding a little colour to my pout on a daily basis.

I am not one for a bold lip (at least not yet) as I find bright colours can be quite hard to wear with my pale skin-tone. Instead I wanted a subtle neutral colour which will just add a little bit extra to my everyday makeup. A 'my-lips-but-better' shade which will never go out of fashion and which will make a perfect addition to my handbag.

Just browsing the MAC website is a little overwhelming! The colour choice is extensive! Luckily I managed to pop in to the MAC shop at Spitalfields Market in London and swatch a few of the colours I had heard so much about. My impossible-to-satisfy sweet tooth obviously extends to my makeup collection as Patisserie was my lipstick of choice and I ordered it as soon as I got home.

Patisserie is a brown-pink toned nude lipstick with the extra bonus of a little shimmer to really give your lips a beautiful and kissable sheen, which also stops it from being just a 'my-lips' lipstick. Being such a natural subtle shade this lipstick perfectly complements pale and fair skin tones. But one of the best things about this lipstick, which was a big bonus because I wasn't expecting it, it smells delicious! It also feels very moisturising so I don't need to wear any lip balm over the top, talk about low-maintenance! See this post for a picture of me wearing this lipstick.

Patisserie is my first MAC lipstick but I have a feeling it won't be my last...

What MAC lipsticks do you own? I always appreciate a recommendation!
